John Slightam Medical Doctor (Psychiatrist)
After graduating from The Ohio State University,
he moved on to complete a psychiatric residency
at the National Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD.
He was stationed at Oakland Naval Hospital as a
staff psychiatrist. He After discharge, he had a large
private practice in the Seattle area since 1991.
Overall, he has 40 years of experience after residency.
Those with substance abuse have nearly
40% rate of having a psychiatric illness as well. If
untreated, achieving sobriety is much more
difficult. Dr. Slightam is very meticulous in
assessing patients to address ALL the diagnoses
in his patients. They then have the choice to
continue with medication monitoring with him or,
if not too complicated, by their primary care
physician. He is a welcome part of the team at
A Walk to Freedom.
