Sue Auvinen SUDP (Supervisor)

Susan L. Auvinen BA, SUDP, NADA1. I have an AAS from Pierce College and received a BA in sociology with a certificate in Substance Use Disorder from The Evergreen State College with a minor in K-8 Education from St. Martins University. I graduated from Diocesan School of Ministry and Theology in 2000 and have been an ordained clergy for 20 years. I have several decades in recovery and am an Adult Child of a Parent Alcoholic myself. My career in the counseling field includes Chaplaincy at Providence St. Peters and the VA in Seattle WA. I have been an SUDP for the past 12 years and specialize in a Jungian perspective of the 12 steps through the lens of liberation and Oxford Theology, utilizing all 6 academic areas of professional counseling. Before coming to the professional arena, I worked as a chemist in the timber industry for 7 years and drove heavy equipment for 18 years putting myself through college. I am an Honorably Discharged Veteran from U.S. Army serving during Desert Shield in the 9th Infantry Division under I-Corps Command. I graduated high school from Kelso Senior High School. I have a passion for recovery, the arts, and the restoration of the human mind and soul.
